Used Forklifts & Material Handling Equipment

Three-Wheel Forklifts:
Three-wheel electric forklifts primarily have cushion tires, and are used mainly indoors. They are sometimes preferred over four-wheel forklifts due to their tighter turning radius. Three-wheel forklifts are good for unloading trucks, and moving pallets and other loads throughout a warehouse or on smooth surfaces where maneuverability and space requirements make four-wheel trucks inefficient. Capacities range from 3,000lbs – 5,000lbs.

Forklifts:
Four-wheel forklifts have electric, propane, diesel, or gasoline engines and come with either cushion or pneumatic tires. Electric units fitted with cushion tires are mainly indoor trucks and run on smooth surfaces. Since they do not release emissions, they also work well where ventilation is poor.

Internal combustion forklifts (propane, gasoline, and diesel) will generate more power than electric trucks, and move quicker over long distances. Propane forklifts can be used indoors where there is some ventilation. If equipped with pneumatic tires, internal combustion units will have greater ground clearance, and be able to travel on a variety of surfaces. Capacities range from 3,000lbs – 80,000lbs.

Reach Trucks:
These electric forklifts are commonly referred to as narrow-aisle trucks. They are designed to rack pallets on smooth surfaces. Single-reach trucks can extend the distance of one pallet. Double-reach trucks can extend the distance of two pallets. Outriggers on the front of the forklift support the weight of the load. Capacities range from 2,500lbs – 5,500lbs.

Order-Pickers:
These electric trucks are commonly referred to as order-pickers, stock-pickers or man-up units. The rider stands on an elevating platform along with the forks, so they may rise to select a load. These units can be used in very narrow aisles. Capacities are normally 3,500lbs.

Turret Trucks:
These forklifts can be used in very narrow aisles and employ a rotating mast. The masts of these units rotate 90 degrees so that the operator can pick up a load from either side without turning the base of the forklift. Capacities range from 3,000lbs – 8,000lbs.

Jacks / Stackers:
These units can either be walk-behind or ride-on. They are an economical solution if used for transporting loads short distances. Fork length is usually 48’’ but some are made double-long for loading two pallets. The forks, or tines, raise slightly off the ground, and their wheels are solid.

Walk behind units may also be equipped with a mast, and sometimes a reach, and are used to raise loads onto racking. Capacities range from 3,000lbs to 8,000lbs.

Stand-up Counter Balance:
These electric forklifts are well-suited for the quick loading and unloading of trucks, in conditions were the rider might frequently need to mount and dismount. They are used primarily indoors on smooth surfaces. Capacities range from 3,000lbs – 5,500lbs.

Sweepers & Scrubbers:
These units are walk-behind or ride-on. They are powered by propane, gasoline, diesel, or electric batteries. They are used to sweep or scrub surfaces, and some models do both. Some models may be used either indoors or outdoors.

Aerial / Scissor Lifts:
Primarily used for maintenance work – they can be small, one man scissor units, or larger bucket control units with a hydraulic folding support arm. Fuel is electric or propane.

Personnel Carts:
Personnel carriers are generally used for quick movement of personnel around a warehouse, or on a farm. They can be small one-man units with three wheels, or large four-man trucks with beds on the back used for hauling loads. Fuel is electric, diesel, gasoline and sometimes propane. Pneumatic or cushion tires are available.

Tow Tractors / Tuggers:
These units are used to pull loads on wheel-buggies around a warehouse. They can be electric, gas, propane or diesel. Capacities are measured in ‘draw bar pull,’ – how much weight needs to be pulled.

Side-loaders:
Side-loaders are used for narrow-aisle work, where space between racks is limited. They are generally electric and load or unload from one side only.
